Mid Year Retirements

Anonymous
Was there a lot of mid year retirements? I know students who's classes were changed three times. With each change the teacher assignments were worst. Now the student has a horrible schedule and is withdrawn from school. Does anyone know how HS schedules are done and why there are so many changes.

HS teachers and schedules can and do change between semesters. The teacher is probably still teaching there, but may have different classes/periods this semester. It's the norm at most MCPS high schools.

At Whitman, students generally don't stay with the same teachers all year. They switch second semester. That way everyone has an opportunity to have the worst teachers.

I understand the change in teachers, but how many times does a schedule get changed? Every morning there was a different schedule posted, even after they were told the schedules were final.

That's a little unusual. But probably just rebalancing class sizes

This. Second semester just started, some changes in schedule and class sizes might be necessary.

Something like this at most HSs.
