What's your religion's take on rights and responsibilities of parents?
What’s your religion and what’s your take? You go first.
I see op won’t answer their own question. When someone starts a thread and asks a question, they should answer it first. Don’t ask questions that you yourself aren’t willing to answer. I think a lot of trolls start threads that way.

Not trolling. Genuinely interested to know. In Islam, there is a lot of emphasis on rights of parents but as its prophet was orphaned in childhood, this subject is more theoretical.
I didn't post about mine as people usually get offended when Islam is mentioning but here you go. This seems like a scholarly article. https://oarep.usim.edu.my/jspui/bitstream/123456789/14525/1/5.BI.%20SAIS2021%20-%20An%20Analysis%20Of%20The%20Responsibility%20Of%20A%20Child%20Towards%20Parents%20Based%20On%20Al-Adab%20Al-Mufrad%20By%20Imam%20Al-Bukhari.pdf |
I also looked up other abrahamic religions and it sounds parental rights and responsibilities are similar. This 18 ye and parent or children not having to mind each other seems like a cultural thing.
