new range-induction vs dual fuel?

Anonymous
We need to replace our 36 inch gas range. I’m having trouble deciding whether to stick with gas vs. one that is 2/3 gas, 1/3 induction vs all induction.

Not overly concerned about price differences, more concerned with cooking experience/performance and resale of house (in about 5 years.)

Any advice welcome!

we got a 36 induction range (fisher & paykel) with new demeyere pans and I don't miss gas at all (we moved and a gas line wasn't possible; this wasn't necessarily an eco decision, but I have no regrets).
I also love so much the flex zones where I can move the pots and pans around to fit.

I have a GE Cafe induction range and love it. We don’t have the option for gas where I live.

I have a Thermador freedom induction and it is amazing. I cannot (or don't want to) imagine life without it.

Get an induction. I had half gas/half electric and it was weird. Plus the flat surface of the induction is far easier to clean and is often where I start part of my mis en place.

Glad to see people are happy with induction. We're probably going to have to choose it (over dual fuel) because our kitchen isn't set up to easily accommodate the required replacement air vent for a vent hood of sufficient capacity to support a quality gas range - OP, something to consider in terms of code compliance, etc.
