| I keep seeing that you have to have 99%. Is that true or can it be lower? If so, how much lower? Thank you. |
| It just doesn't seem fair that your score needs to be so high. |
|
I'm sure it depends on the school. SJC seems to stick with 99% or close to it.
90% is a good but not wow score (it's exactly what my son had so I am speaking of my own child). |
I think you’d be surprised how many kids around here get that score. That said, merit aid isn’t a ton. My son got a 99 and gets $5k/year merit scholarship at Gonzaga. He’s a senior so maybe it’s more now. It’s helpful and we’re grateful, but merit may be less than you’re thinking |
|
Depends on the school. Ireton and O'Connell looks like you need at least a 95%. We aren't looking in ADW or any DC independents so I don't know the answer there.
|
| I’m sure it depends on the school, but at DJO, the admissions office said it’s $1,500 for the 95th percentile and $9,000 for the 99th. |
|
It also depends if your are coming from a Catholic K-8 or independent/public school.
My DD get merit from AHC and had ~90th percentile on HSPT |
| There should be consistency for all of the girls. |
| *for all the girls schools. |
How much? |
Why? It's not like they're a chain. They have different tuitions, budgets, fundraising, endowments, size. If you're OP and you're this stressed now, I don't think you should attempt private high school. No school is worth the financial strain. And tuition will only go up, plus there are plenty of expenses outside of tuition. |
They are all independent entities. That’s like saying all fast food stores should charge the same for a hamburger. |
Hi money is no object but I think she deserves to win the scholarship. |
| I have no idea if this is true, but I have heard from several parents at our k-8 that at Gonzaga you need 99% to get merit. |
Now I’m calling troll. The school determines who “deserves” a scholarship. Ugh. |
