Moving within MoCo before summer - will MCPS allow DC to finish the year in the current school

We are moving within MoCo in May. I am conflicted on whether I should report the move or wait a few weeks to allow my DC to finish the school year at their current school. Those that have had to move before the end of school year - can you share your experience with MCPS and whether they let you complete the year or force you to move schools right away.

| I think kids at our elementary school all finished the school year out. I think MCPS would prefer it. What school wants to do transfer paperwork and on-boarding in May if they can push that off until the summer? |

It wouldn't cross my mind to report it. The school absolutely doesn't want the disruption, nor do you.
As long as you're able to transport the kid to school, please wait til mid June to report a change. |
