Clearblue Easy OPK -- line

Anonymous
I'm trying out the Clearblue Easy sticks now, having switched from the Answer 7-day OPK ... I read in this forum that Answer has not been rated so well, and Clearblue was recommended. SO, I'm giving it a go. I'm a bit discouraged, though, because at about this time in my cycle, at least with Answer the test line gradually shifted to intense color while the reference line gradually diminished. And this coincided with cervical mucus changes (not charting, though), so it seemed to be predicting my LH surge well. But, Clearblue is only showing me the test line, and an ultra faint test line.

I'm wondering, does Clearblue normally have the gradual intensification of test line leading up to the surge? Or, maybe it's less sensitive to smaller hormonal changes, and only shows the level when it's significantly changed?

Sorry, my title should have read "Clearblue Easy OPK -- line intensity question"

Sorry x2 (! ...clearly too eager to post!) ... "Clearblue is showing me the reference line, and an ultra faint test line."

I never got a positive with clearblue even though my temps showed ovulation

Gee, not so great ... How about anyone else, their experience using Clearblue easy -- good bad, etc? Thanks in advance

I am using CB for the first time this month. Had a faint line yesterday and a strong, positive line today. I used a First Response OPK this month as well and the CB was showing positive and the FR was not. I am waiting to test again this afternoon to see if anything has changed.

Thanks PP. I tested today again, and at last some more color intensity in the test line. So, maybe it will "catch up" to the physical changes I'm noting (CM). It seems this test might indeed be more sensitive to the hormonal change than Answer; that is, it will react only when there is a more pronounced change. I still found it comforting, though, to note the gradual shift in line intensity, as I described; at least there was a pattern I could follow. - OP

17:10 poster again. Well, it looks like CB did detect my surge earlier today and I was able to identify the surge much, much better with CB than FR. Test lines were lighter this evening for both tests, so I definitely surged this AM. I have gotten paranoid and test 2x daily with FR, since I can't always discern if the test line is the same color and wait for it to diminish to determine surge. So, I am now officially a CB fan!!

OP here ... That's great, PP! It's definitely reassuring to have something happen in the testing, and of course hopefully that it is reflecting what's truly occurring in the body (!) I've read great feedback in this forum on the First Response OPK, but I was startled to see how pricey it is (2 test for about $21... If you're using that test 2x daily, that can add up (unless I'm thinking of another test?) ...) If I try the FR test, I'll have to be quite precise in choosing when I use the test ...
