AAU Basketball Rescinding Offers Adequate

| A lot of these AAU basketball tryouts stagger within weeks of each other. I believe as a parent, you should have your kids tryout for multiple teams to find the right fit. In a situation where you receive an offer, but it's not your first choice, do you accept it, knowing if you do receive an offer for your preferred team, you'll have to send a rescinding offer email? Do you kindly reject the initial offer and hopefully receive an offer from the preferred team? Worst case scenario is being left off both teams. Has anyone been in a situation like this? I would imagine this is normal practice given how competitive these teams are in recruiting. |

| We did this when DS was trying out. Tried our for an EYBL team and backed out of another team that he had accepted an offer from. |

| The offers that I've received typically are formally accepted by registering and paying a deposit. I just checked and backing out of the offer she accepted last year would have cost us $350. |

| It will come down to losing money. You pay to play!! Those with funds can afford to do what you describe. It's horribly unethical though. If you accept, you should fulfill your obligation and not leave a team to scramble. |

 Oh please, these coaches would cut or bench your kid in a heartbeat if Bronny walked thru the door. There's no loyalty on either side of these AAU teams.

It was uncomfortable, but coach DS turned down was assistant coach on HS team and team DS ended up joining was pushed by HS head coach, so the assistant coach kind of understood. |
