People like this will never be reformed, frankly, and are a danger to society. He should be locked away for a very very long time. Hell, given the current crime wave, putting people like him away for max allowable sentence may be very beneficial to society at large.

We have devolved into animals. I think it is time to bring back The Code of Hammurabi. It’s the only way people barely above animalistic instincts ever get the message. Steal? Chop off the hand. Save taxpayers the money. A quick lop off probably costs less than $200 with an axe from home depot and cauterization. Criminals will learn reaaaaaal up k not to do it because the risk is no longer worth losing a hand. Ancient civilizations learned very easily how to become civilized - make the punishment a strong deterrence for crime and acting like animals and you achieve civilization.
