| Any insights why Harvard requested 1 hour of meeting time but Princeton only requested 30 minutes? |
| They are different schools. |
|
They can go longer or shorter.
My kid has had 4 interviews. 40-60 min have been about the length. Including Princeton. 1 was virtual. The other 3 in person. |
|
All these alumni interviews are irrelevant -- unless you show up obviously drunk/stoned or insult the interviewer.
-Princeton interviewer |
|
The Harvard interviewer has more confidence in their interview skills/ability to talk to you for longer.
It's not about you and is not a reflection on how much/little each school likes you. |
+1 -- Another alum interviewer from Princeton |
Or the princeton one has more confidence they can get what they need in 30 m |
In Klingon, Harvard means one hour and Princeton means 30 minutes. |
Now you two have to tell us stories about the kids that did "show up obviously drunk/stoned or insult the interviewer"
|
Yup, this. Your kid's interview experience is very much at the whim of whatever random alum they are assigned to. Don't read anything into it. DH and I are convinced our input doesn't affected admission decisions; the only exception would be a train wreck interview, but that's a real rarity. We've interviewed for two different T5 schools. |
| Princeton alumni need to rush back to running the country. Harvard alumni have more leisure time on their hands running universities |
Clearly, I meant the opposite ha ha |
+1. This. |
Well, since they have no chance of admission, might as well go all out “Risky Business” on you. |
| Princeton interviews everyone.. means they are irrelevant |
