Is this unusual? As in just finished a run at an indoor track, sweating a bit and walking to lockers, then randomly asked how far I ran by a passerby in a cheery way. Then asked how long it took. Why would a stranger want to know this? It's happened multiple times. It's not creepy per se, I just don't see the point. Is it just outgoing people itching to strike up a chat? |
Wear a sign that says no talking. |
Just people being friendly. Just tell them. |
They want to show off their own thing and are trying to get you to share first. Same as the people who used to ask what you got on the quiz. |
+1 |
I think it’s just conversation. I’m a runner and I enjoy talking to other runners about mileage, pace, type of shoes, etc. |
Holy cow, OP. Do you rarely interact with people in real life? How is this something that that concerns you? |
Where is the indoor track? I did not know if there are any local |
Disagree. Either it's a guy trying to hit on you or a guy that is threatened by you doing better than him or an old lech. |
lol |
Q1: “How far did ya run?” Weird, but okay, I guess. Q2: “At what pace?” Getting borderline creepy. |
Then just keep walking, I don’t know what to tell you. You’re not going to stop the men from asking, but you can decide how you will respond. |
What does a stranger want or need to know how far you ran and at what clip? I would literally never ask some totally random person that. |
Geez, he was just being friendly and maybe wanted to run with you. |
I would pretend I was Helen Keller —deaf, dumb and blind on a moody day. On a regular day I might tell them. |
