Would you let your 11 yo watch Top Gun?

I am mostly concerned about language and mature romantic scenes.

DS (11 yo) loves anything airplanes and pilots related. He saw Top Gun trailer somewhere and has been asking for a year or two to see the movie.

If you would advise against, do you have any other good aviation oriented movies to recommend?

Of course! As far as language, either they've heard it before/know it or it'll go right over their head. As far as romantic scenes, if you're watching together, they will probably turn their head or go get a snack at that time

OP- if in doubt, I always refer to common sense media reviews. They list Top Gun as ages 13+ but most parents agree it is okay at 12. I was pretty strict on movie and tea material but I think this is OK for an 11 year old.

He saw the trailer somewhere? He might be asking about the Top Gun sequel that came out not too long ago

The romantic scene in top gun is so tame compared to what’s out there now. The new one has minor cursing and another very tame scene.
