How much do you pay for House sitter when you travel?

The house sitter just need to sleep over in the house then she can go to her work in the morning and then go back to the house after work. The sitter will also be taking care of the family cat. Is the rate daily or a flat rate for the entire time the family is gone?

Do you need them to sleep in your house? We hire a pet sitter to stop by our house once day during our vacation. She feeds the cats, water the plants, brings in the mail, feeds our fish, turns on the lights etc. She charges $27 per day (I think its less if you have fewer pets) they are licensed and bonded. I'm sure you could find cheaper but for us we want to ensure she can handle something should it come up during our vacation (power outages, sick animals, plumbing problems etc)

OP here. Yes, I need someone who will sleep over prepares the cat for that day and just come back at night to do basic like bringin the mail and other stuff like that.
