| Do you know a grocery store in DC where I can buy frozen pão de queijo ? |
| Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s both have it. I think the Trader Joe’s version is already cooked and has to be reheated, while the brand that I’ve purchased at Whole Foods is frozen balls of dough that need to be cooked thoroughly. |
| OP I am looking for Brasilian brand thank you |
|
Does anyone have a recipe?
There’s no way to get the right cheese here, what are some workarounds? |
| If you mean DC area in general and not just DC proper, By Brazil in Wheaton has it. |

| We haven’t liked any of the frozen ones we’ve bought. My husband is Brazilian and I make simple ‘yogurt biscuits’ which he says are a similar substitute. Just three ingredients but you can add shredded cheese or garlic. |
This is the only store that I have found that has frozen pao de queijo imported from Minas. |
| The European food store by Clarendon. I think that's the one they are giving the link for. |
| At La Cosecha, the wine bar sells them frozen in the bag |
|
I saw them at Costco in NE DC.
My friend makes them from scratch and says it's one of her easiest recipes. |
Can you share the recipe for the yogurt biscuits? We aren't Brazilian but have celiac so have always loved pao de queijo as something naturally gluten free. |

Not DC but for those looking for them in MD - great Brazilian store by University Blvd /GA/Viers mill (ss/Wheaton)
Brazilian friends go there for occasions |
| Brazilian here. Best prepared frozen one is Fogo de Minas frozen ones which you can find at the European Market place listed above or By Brasil in Wheaton. The Wheaton store also has fresh ones. |
