| Husband has never been to Texas. Wants to go for spring break - Austin/San Antonio hill country. Please recommend favorite hill country resort and any itinerary. |
| We are partial to Hyatts. |
I think I stayed there for business…resort parkway? |
| JW Marriott in San Antonio is really fun! |
Please share what you like about it. We are a couple, no kids… |
| Following. I spent early childhood in Dallas, and my DH has never been to Tx. Love the idea of Austin / San Antonio and hill country resort. |
| The two best for adults are Miraval and Lake Austin Spa. Both in Austin, not Hill Country. If you want Hill Country just find a nice b&b in Fredericksburg. There are some resorts but they’re more geared to kids. |
| I think there’s on in San Antonio that is actually called Hill Country Resort and we liked it very much |
| Have been to the JW Marriott for work and it’s nice, but would not choose it for an adults only vacation, especially if you want to get out and about. |
I've been to both Miraval and Lake Austin Spa. They are both phenomenal. That being said, they are both all inclusive and much more geared toward a "don't leave the property for four days" traveler. If you are looking to totally unwind in a luxurious and beautiful setting, I recommend Lake Austin Spa. If you are looking to have more of a wellness retreat vibe, I recommend Miraval. If you are looking for a home base to go out and exploring, I recommend neither. |
| Barton Creek is a wonderful resort as it has golf, pool, easy access to downtown Austin. You could drive to San Antonio as a day trip, I wouldn’t spend the night there. Fredericksburg is also a great day trip. |
This is very helpful. Spouse loves golf. |
Thank you very helpful |
| Lost Pines resort is fabulous |
| Fredericksburg looks great! Anyone been there? |
