| Already tried in the mcps forum. Looking for some enrichment for our kids (age 11, 13) in reading/writing. They no longer read actual books in our school. |
| Just have them read each night before bed, 20 min day. Let them read whatever they want and take them to the library often. I do this with my 13 year old. It was a habit his elementary school started and they dropped it in middle school so we picked it back up. He reads plus finds things he enjoys and it gets him off screens at the end of the day. |
| Yeah but I think she finds it fun to talk about the books with other people. |

Look at Outschool.com
Don’t know for sure and they offer a lot of cool options |
Look at Outschool. I just searched on book club and your kids’ ages. There are tons of options. Here’s an example. https://outschool.com/classes/the-bucket-list-book-club-the-top-100-middle-school-novels-Txn3SbcZ or would you consider co-leading an in-person book club with other parents? Half a dozen families and rotate lead each month. Figure out if parents pick books, or the girls pick one. Particular genres to choose or avoid? You can Google ideas for how to start one. |
