I just got my insurance pre-authorization for Wegovy, but I have called everywhere and no one seems to have the starting dose. Has anyone filled .25 lately in the DC area? |
I can’t find it anywhere! Couldn’t keep waiting so I finally went to a compounding pharmacy which I pay out of pocket until Wegovy is available. I hope it’s soon. |
its only available at higher doses, unfortunately. |
I finally had luck with CVS Caremark shipping. |
The compounded stuff works great. Just order it off the internet. |
When looking for Wegovy, etc. do people literally phone up all of the surrounding pharmacies? Or is there a way to check online? |
Same query from me. I have a script and insurance approval. How do I get it filled? |
You just have to call individual pharmacies and ask. Be forewarned, they’ll be a little annoyed as they are getting so many calls.
If one CVS doesn’t have it, don’t assume none would. Ask them if they can check on other CVS locations near you. Same with all the other chains. |
This is literally what I did last year a couple of times. I had better luck with grocery store pharmacies than drugstores. That may have changed though. |
If you go to a CVS in person, they should be able to look and see what the closest CVS that has it is. |
My online pharmacy (optum rx) will put you on a wait list. It took about a month, but then they filled a three month prescription. I preferred this to calling everywhere, though you have to be patient. |
They won’t. |
NP. They have the ability to check. Up to the individual pharmacist as to whether they are willing to. |
Try the company if you can’t find it calling around yourself.

I should add I have not used them but lots of people have had success with them on Reddit. |
