Thoughts?

Sheesh. At least put some effort in yourself before starting a thread like this. Links? What are your thoughts?

The update was released on 1/23 when Monifa announced the board was trying to oust her, not today.

As for the updates, it was a lot of so-what.

Here is the report.

MCPS/DCI is a train wreck. God knows how many employees have tried in vain to have complaints addressed and who have labored in hostile work environments for possibly years OR who have left the system when the system has failed them.

As if education wasn't stressful enough.

I hope the new person in charge of investigations is completely independent from the previous staff.

It seems like a lot of we are studying this. But we are talking about a system for reporting and investigating employee misconduct. Surely mcps isn’t unique in needing this.

I think every school district in MD would benefit by having an institutionalized investigating mechanism that better guarantees transparency and accountability. If it takes a change in state laws and regulations to make that happen, then the Kirwan Commission will have something useful to do, in order to better enable district funds remain focused on student achievement, instead of using resources to "root out rot" that might include the superintendent.
