Course Registration Question

As you all know, course registration is due very soon. However, magnet decisions aren't known until after. If my child gets into a magnet school, they want to take different electives than they would register for at their home school. Does what we register for the home school affect magnet classes?

Not to worry, you will have an opportunity to replace your selections with the magnet school options.

No.

Just to be clear, each school has its own internal process for course registrations that are independent of each other. If you accept a slot at a magnet school, you will complete an entirely new registration with new course choices.

The magnet programs usually sent out a Google form with course registration info that you fill out after you accept the offer. It's actually much easier than whatever you did at the home school.

If the form does not cover your child's special situation you can work with the magnet coordinator to change the schedule. The forms usually list all the typical courses and leave a text box option if you have other needs or comments.
