| Anyone had experience with one of these? |
| You should just show up. Ask the mom on the DCU academy thread for pro tips. |
| You get invited the show up to play for the coaches to evaluate you then if they like what the see they will invite your kid back for the futures ID sessions |
| For the youth national teams? You drop your kid off and wait or run errands. Parents aren't allowed. |
| How do you get invited if you’re on a U11 ECNL team and not MLS Next? |
U14 and up. A lot of information on the USYNT ID Camp website. |

| Thank you!! And I meant U13 not U11! Sounds like we have another year. |
If your son is a 2011, you should have a pretty good idea whether he's at the level required to be invited to one of these events. In another thread, the clubs were listed for the most recent USYNT IDC events in Wilmington for 2009s and 20010s. Seven-ish of the roughly 60 kids were from ECNL clubs. I don't think any of them had more than one or two per age group and not all ECNL clubs contributed a player. So . . . .your son would likely be the best player on his squad AND one of the best in the league. |
Won't matter anyways... if your kid isn't playing for an MLS academy team, chances are very slim to make the USYNT. |
True The USYNT age group squads in recent times hasn't been welcoming to players not from MLS Clubs |
And we wonder why we can't turn the corner competitively against major soccer powers |
Major soccer powers have their ynt rosters made up of players from professional academies. |
Yep you get it Lalas, carry on |
Let's not make it out to be this simple. What's occurring currently isn't the end of the world. Most of the people not happy about the rosters being fully made up of players from MLS youth academies are upset because they feel like their league is 2nd tier and the truth is that ECNL boys national is second tier to MLS academies. |
