Somebody please explain what I'm missing with 2941. I've been there five or six times now over the years, and I have never loved it. Of course it's not bad -- all of the food is very good. I just don't love it and would pretty much always prefer somewhere else -- there are plenty of options in the DMV that I'd prefer. Clearly I'm missing something, as everyone who knows food thinks it's amazing, and it just got a James Beard Outstanding Restaurant nomination for 2024.
I love food. I love fine dining. I love restaurants. I live in Falls Church so 2941 is very convenient. What am I missing??? |
| Please tell us where you love to go regularly. |
| Food is good but not great. It’s pretty pricey for good food. I don’t go often either. |
Newly in love with Ellie Bird (we can walk there). Also newly in love with Pineapple & Pearls. For special occasions I often like French: L'Auberge Chez Francois or Le Diplomate. I love Lutèce. I've loved the two dinners I've had at The Inn at Little Washington. Also in Falls Church is Thompson Italian, which I enjoy (probably better than 2941) but I don't get the hype about it, either tbh. I love Indian food and used to do Haandi a lot, but it isn't what it was so I'll go into DC for Rasika. Ugh, I guess I'm all over the place with this? |
| Fall Church is such a mess. |

| I don’t think it’s that great either. It’s fine, like I am perfectly happy to eat there if it was a business dinner or something but not on my own dime. I do love the space and think it’s excellent for special events and that the food is better than typical wedding/bar mitzvah food so it’s great for that purpose. |
+1 Special events only, and even then about once every other year, at most. The food and atmosphere used to be better. |
We have similar taste, you may also like Café Coline and Pirouette, both in Arlington. |
