| Daughter is going this summer for the first time, age 14. Any advice? Thank you! |

Which session?
Your daughter will have a great time. She will likely get put into the ensemble her first time there which, believe me, is good. Though super fun for the true theater nerd, Stagedoor can be pretty intense, and exhausting. Those kids are busy all day and night. They are getting to know her and she them. If she doesn’t act like a diva and maintains positive attitude, she’ll do well. |

Sessions 1 and 2. She’s a sweetie pie theater nerd quiet kid, an only child, calm and easy. Goes with the flow and cheers for others. Not a diva at all and doesn’t like center of attention etc. She’s excited for it but it was my idea. Summer at home gets long, and a friend in NY recommended it. I hope it’s as fun as it looks! Thanks!

My DD (13) went last year 3rd session and LOVED it! She had done Long Lake the 3 previous years. She’ll also be there Sessions 1 & 2 this year . I am very impressed with their communications and organization so you’ll get loads of info. If you don’t already, follow them on social media: IG, TikTok, X/Twitter. They definitely appreciate it when you ship the luggage up ahead of time (like they ask…but many don’t). We used Lugless vs the vendor they identified without issue. Also, definitely pack a plastic box of snacks! If you haven’t already, book a place to stay. There are more places there that in the Adirondacks, but it does fill up and you’re having to stay much farther away. Oh - and if your child takes medication…it’s pretty easy to package your own pill packs vs use the service they recommend (though, that was easy, too…just an additional cost). It’s a great place for theatre kids! See you there!
