Do the Reading and Math Inventory scores factor into the top 1% for middle school students? Or is it grades only that determine the top 1%?
Context: 7th grader scored 1700+ on Reading Inventory Lexile Measure. |
Your DC should skip TJ and go straight to college. |
Sorry. They don't care. The top 1.5% for TJ admissions refers to the kids who earn the highest score on the essays + GPA + experience factors in the TJ application. It's mostly based on the essays. |
No one looks at or cares about Reading or Math Inventory unless it's basic or below.

What is this inventory? My 7th grader never told me about such a thing |
Received rejection with a measure much more than that. More than the Reading and Math Inventory scores, student's race matters the most to get in. |
Neither Math Inventory/Reading Inventory scores nor race matters to get in. The admissions process is pretty clear now, pretty straightforward. It is down to the essay questions, as compared to others in your middle school. |
