For instance, in Fairfax County, schools spokeswoman Julie Allen said the funding for ALL in VA is not enough to offer tutoring for all students who qualify under the guidance outlined by the state. Instead, Fairfax is prioritizing by need. The district estimated that about 27,000 Fairfax students are receiving some sort of intervention, a figure that is increasing every week. . . .. . . In Fairfax, the district initially began planning in-person tutoring in fall 2022 and launched high-impact tutoring programs in 15 schools last May. Since ALL in VA was announced, the district has been working to launch programs in as many elementary and middle schools as possible. As of Friday, high-impact tutoring programs had started in 95 schools, with approximately 50 additional school programs expected to start in the coming months. . . . . .
