Miscarriage without cramps or bleeding?

Anonymous
***DISCLAIMER***I am a paraniod freak.

I have a history of MC, but all were accompanied with some spotting and slight cramping. Has anyone had a MC without spotting, particulary if they found out late in the 1st trimester via an ultrasound?

yes -- 8 weeks -- no heartbeat seen in sono -- no cramps no bleeding. did a d&c the following week

pp - did you have pregnancy symptoms (nausea, fatigue, etc)?

op - you're turning me into a paranoid freak!

OP here: Sorry to have that effect. I won't calm down until I hit the 2nd trimester.

OP, yes, I had two miscarriages around 11 weeks without knowing it, found out through sono. Call the OB and ask to have a quick sono just to give you peace of mind. Take care.

OP here, I guess I'm just paranoid b/c of my history, so I'm just waiting for disaster, even though there are no immediate signs.

I do have a sono scheduled tomorrow, can't wait.

OP I would try to relax. My OB told me that is not that common later in the 1st trimester. Way more common early on before the heartbeat has been seen or heard and usually people do have symptoms of miscarriage. Good luck. I hope you see a fetus and HB tomorrow.

OP here.

I'm a paraniod freak for a reason. I miscarried. Babies HB stopped at 11 weeks.

I am so sorry to hear that. My babies hb had stopped between 9 and 10 weeks. I start getting a nagging feeling something was wrong, but had not reason to feel so.

I am sorry for your loss, and hang in there.

I hate to feed your paranoia, but I had two miscarriages and no symptoms with either of them - although prior to finding out about the first one my pregnancy symptoms went away. With first, heartbeat was seen at 8 weeks then no heartbeat at 11 weeks or so. The second one was a blighted ovum.

Don't worry, there is nothing you can do one way or another - but stress is not good for you. Try to be happy you are pregnant. The odds are with you!

I'm at 11 weeks today...have had one good sono with a good strong hb at 7 1/2 weeks, and my NT sono next week. But I am also a paranoid freak, even though I've never miscarried before.

This article put my mind to ease quite a bit, about a recent study showing that after your first prenatal visit, the risk of miscarriage is much lower than most of us think. Not to say it doesn't happen (as previous posters have shown) but it is so easy to work yourself up into a frenzy over this.

March 14, 2008 — For asymptomatic women with ultrasound evidence of fetal viability at a first antenatal visit, the risk of subsequent miscarriage is less than 2% — well below previously reported rates — according to a large, prospective study conducted in Australia.
