Sara Harberson Application Nation

Is anyone a member of her Application Nation 202x private Facebook groups? Is it worth it to join? How is the advice she provides in the private Facebook groups?

Have you used any of her exclusive offers? How much were her exclusive offers?

I read a ton of CC but thought it was excellent. Offers range from $750-$1,000.

Very highly recommend. Huge fan, great advice from an expert who also has a heart

All special offers (essay rewriting, application strategy, common app review, etc) except one is $1K - in addition to the monthly fee. YMMV in that group. The parent FB group can feel VERY baggy but the information she provides is helpful. I wish there was a more “basic” service.

Costs very little to be a part of the FB group. That plus her book is very helpful. You don’t need to spend $ on the extra services to benefit

It is $1000 for 12 months of access to FB group.

Does she answer questions 1 on 1 in that group? Or do you post questions for all to see? Sharing so much info even in a private group seems risky.

Can anyone who used the service answer please?

Will she help with essay review and app strategy? How can you hire her?

I read that the essay help requires public posting of the essays for input from others.

This will result in essays being flagged for plagiarism.

That doesn't sound safe at all.

She answers any q posted in the board for free.

The essay topics she recommends are so specific to the kid plagiarism would make no sense. Only topics are discussed, not entire essays.

The essay itself is Not published for editing - rather your high schooler’s 3 topic ideas must be posted on FB for approval by Sara before you can take advantage of the common app essay review by Harberson and her team. For that reason it was a nonstarter for my teen. Even so, the structure she puts around how to come up with a good topic and all her advice was VERY helpful. Also her videos, her book, the advice on FB that comes from the other parents, and Sara and her team’s real time answers to questions in the middle of filling out applications etc is also very useful. I thought it was well worth the $79 per month. I did not end up paying anything beyond the FB fee and $20 some odd dollars for her book Soundbite and found it well worth the cost.

I was a customer. I’m the PP who posted that it does not cost much IMO to utilize her services. I found belonging to her FB group, in addition to following the advice given in her book, was well worth it. We had great outcomes. I recommend. The fees are not quite (to me) as you describe. It is not a flat fee of $1,000 for 12 months access to the FB group fyi. It is $79 per month, cancellable at any time. You are not on the hook for 12 months. Her book which you can order from Amazon is maybe $20. For us, her advice and approach was extremely helpful.

Any essay posted online can be scanned by plagiarism detection software. If the software sees the essay later (I.e. when a kid submits it with app) then the software will mark it as plagiarized.
