I'm in desperate need of some new maternity clothes and like some of the top I've seen online at Gap Maternity. I don't live near a Gap that sells maternity to go try on their sizing. Do the tops run pretty close to pre-pregnancy size? (For example I've found that the Ann Taylor maternity clothes run pretty large and I generally order a size smaller).
Thanks! |
Yep I think so. But read the reviews online of the top you want and see what people who have purchased say about the fit. I found that to generally be a good indicator. |
Yes, pretty much! |
Yes, I've had good luck with Gap Maternity but the online reviews are also really helpful. |
Do read the reviews. i bought a few tops from them and they all ran very large. |
I thought so, but definitely read the online reviews. Incidentally, the pants I got from Gap were the best pants I found! true to size and decent quality. (was not happy with the pants from old navy, liz lange for target or AT Loft.) I thought that Old Navy ran a bit larger. Also, beware of buying maternity jeans online - mine fit for exactly a week and then they were too small, though everything else I bought in the same size fit just fine. |
I'm very happy with everything I ended up with from Gap Maternity. I went to the one inside the Baby Gap in Fair Oaks Mall to get a general sense of sizing so that I would order the right things. I stuck to my pre-preg size even though I was a bit apprehensive to do so. I'm 39 weeks and almost everything still fits.
The one thing I will say is this. I have a really short torso and the demi panel pants became uncomfortable around week 30 and I had to ditch them alltogether. I found the full panel way more comfortable in the 3rd tri. But that's just me ... |
yes i think so for the most part. some are just a tad big. i really liked old navy's maternity line too. |
OP here-- thanks for the replies. The two shirts I was looking at are new and don't have reviews yet, but based on everyone's comments I think I will just order my normal size. |
I belive that you can return maternity clothes bought online to any Gap store if they don't fit. At least I did that 2 years ago. The policy might have changed since then. |
