Would really like three kids (have two). Teetering between “people make it work” and planning every detail.

What’s your household income in this area with three kids?

Why does it matter? What’s this area mean?

With these HHI incomes none of you has any reason to complain about anything. You are in the top one percent. I don't know the exact percentage, but I would guess that the majority of people in this area have HHI, with both parents employed, of under $100,000.

Count your blessings and stop your whining and complaining.

I am not complaining but stating a simple fact. Also, even, anonymously, it is gauche to talk about how much money you make.

Why are you in this thread - you knew the topic from subject line. If you think it’s gauche - scroll by.

Actually discussing how much one makes encourages better financial responsibility and understanding and salary equity.

Perhaps you are just jealous?

Income matters to a degree here, but I think I’d focus more on 1) whether you really want another child and 2) the logistics and demands that come with three kids.

When 3rd kid was born, we were making probably $200k combined. Now 3rd kid is a freshman in HS and we're making about $350k. Both DH and I work for the federal government.

It depends. Some people have trust funds or a paid for house
