| Ward 2 streets and sidewalks are totally clear of snow. But most BIPOC communities EOTR still have snow and ice piled up in the streets and sidewalks covered in ice. Yet again, DC fails the people with the least resources. I was delivering meals to seniors this afternoon on Clay Terrace and Division Ave NE and these streets haven’t seen a single plow. It’s shameful. |

I'm assuming that the city is catering to the rich guys who can to untold damage to their future campaigns unless they get served first. And when that happens, there's isn't a lot left for the rest.
Tell me when you're ready to buck the trend yourself, OP, and let's see how long you last without being deluged by influential complainers. |

So that makes it acceptable?
Are you a trumper? |
How is it surprising that all of you WOTR demand priority services but virtue signal about it on social media? That's quintessential DC. |
Ha ha, no. I'm a wealthy liberal who knows how the world works. So, you know, maybe even worse
You know what I would prioritize for DC? Security. This means working with surrounding states regarding drug gangs and weapons, and investing a ton into the police force, and doing away with pretend equity concerns when it comes to police work. The majority of residents are black, so obviously the majority of criminals are black. The poor neighborhoods are where crimes happen most, because that's where people have the fewest legal economic opportunities. This also means putting more effort into breaking poverty cycles in the poorer wards. It's hard to keep teens in school when they're violent and no one wants them there, but it's necessary to halt the school-to-hardened-criminal pipeline. We need special schools as a last resort for violent minors before juvie. The snow plowing is certainly another obstacle for people who can't really afford too many... but in the big scheme of things, not the worse of SE's problems. |
| At least those areas have drinkable water |
These are called residential treatment centers. I used to work at one in Maryland, and they can be super helpful for these kids. The problem is that they're all full due to skyrocketing teen mental health issues. We really need around 4-5 more in the DC area to meet the demand. Someone should organize around that. |
For a “wealthy liberal” you sure sound a lot like a trumper with all your “tough on crime” bullsh!t. |
| The quickest way to turn a liberal towards a more conservative position is by having them live with/around the liberal policies they supported. |
| Did the people living eotr at least clear their bike lanes of snow? |
“BIPOC” lolz 🤡 |
| I thought the lack of snow plowing was a conscious effort to stop carjacking. |
And you know other communities' priorities how, exactly? |
Clown ish. |
That, plus there’s a decent chance the DC DPW loses half its fleet if they went EOTR to the BIPOC communities OP from NW is so worried about. |
