DD has taken Bio Honors and Chem Honors classes and will finish AP Pre-calc 3/4 this year. She has all A’s so far. She has some concerns about AP Chemistry because her Chemistry Honors teacher is not very good. |
Bio and Chem honors courses are easy As for most students, thanks to fcps curriculum. But AP Bio and Chemistry are at a whole different level in terms of rigor and effort needed by the student. |
AP Physics. The one that’s not calculus based. |
NP, but our school doesn't offer that for Juniors. Honors physics, AP chem/bio, or AP Environmental Science are the choices. |
What do they want to study in college? Are they into stem/math/engineering? If they are, take Honors Physics and then AP Physics C senior year. I am surprised that your school is not allowing AP Physics 1 as a junior. Many HS in Fairfax offer this. If you are concerned about having an AP course as a junior either ask admin about AP Physics or take AP Bio. AP Physics 1 is not a course that many colleges count for engineering or CS majors, if that’s a concern. Many will take AP Physics C though. |
