| I am desperate to find a pair of bootcut/straight jeans that does not get baggy in the thighs/butt and that I don't have to keep pulling up after just a few hours of wear. Every jean I have tried on does that. Does anyone have a magic pair to recommend that retains its shape? |

I have several pairs of jeans from Old Navy (rockstar, bootcut) and they don't get baggy at all. I mean, maybe the slightest bit of give if I take them from the dryer, put them on and then squat but zero sagging or falling down (which I know some brands do). They have different washes an I'm not sure its the case with all of them but I generally get a medium blue wash and the material does not stretch.
I've definitely had other brands that stretch out a full size or more. Surprising, i know. |
OP here. I used to buy most of my jeans at ON and they all stretched out on me. I've recently lost some weight and want to try out some other brands but I can't figure out what the secret to a non-baggy pair is. Is it the type and percentage of stretchy fiber like Lycra? Or the type of wash? I can't seem to crack the code. |
| I like Democracy jeans. They have an elastic waistband. |

Previous poster again:
Actually, these are the ones I have and this is the wash: https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=449995002&vid=1&searchText=Mid-Rise%20Kicker%20Boot-Cut%20Jeans%20for%20Women#pdp-page-content I've spent $200 on jeans and I've spent $20 and I really like these. I recently went overseas for a week with only a carry-on and I brought 2 pairs and wore each for 2-3 days. No sagging. Looked the same on day 3 of wear as they did on day 1. Anyway, I'm a 49 year old mom and clearly not a jean snob but I can reliably put these on and they fit regardless if they're right out of the dryer or the second day of wearing them.
Then I spend my clothing money on sweaters and dresses that cost way too much. |
| OP are you wearing a belt? |
| My vintage Lee jeans keep their shape. They have no stretch though. |
No, hadn't thought about it but the real problem is that the thighs get baggy. |
| I've had a pair of 7 jeans for 5 years that have maintained their shape. I purchased them from Nordstrom but haven't seen the particular style sold anywhere else since. |
| If you’ve lost weight, you may need to change which brands fit you best and what size you wear. |
| My Gap 90s highrise don't get baggy, but I also have ON straight leg jeans that hold their shape. |
| This is PP - the ON jeans are noticeably thinner than the Gap jeans (they're more like Levi's), but there are times when I don't want heavy denim and they work well. |
| What’s your body type? You might be getting a bad fit for your shape. Are you apple, pear, triangle? |
OP here. Was an apple due to being overweight, am now an hourglass at a regular weight, but I have bought jeans post-weight loss and the same thing happens as when I was heavier--the thighs down to the knees bag out. I would like to wear nice, crisp jeans for an evening out that don't look baggy by the time I get up from the table. My thighs are proportionate to the rest of my body and were even when I was overweight. I appreciate everyone's help BTW! |
| Veronica beard jeans and dl1961 jeans hold shape well for me. |
