How much screen time? What form and what days or times of the week? Or what other screen rules do you have?
Please give ages of kids! I only have 1 kid who is a rule follower so it’s easier for me. 7 years old: gets sporadic Lego cooking videos and language videos. Maybe 15-30 minutes. Rarely during the week because he has activities that keep us busy. |

We allow too much screen time, I think.
My kids are ages 9 and 7. They are allowed 1 hr in the mornings. Their school doesn't start til 9:30 and we live 2 blocks away from school so we don't leave our house til about 9:15 in the mornings. They wake up around 7 and they're allowed to use their ipads from 7-8, which allows me and my spouse to sleep a bit longer than we would otherwise. It works well for us but I feel guilty about the screen time they get. They also typically get about 30 minutes screen time in the afternoons when they get home from school/while they have an after school snack from about 4:15-4:45 or so. And usually on Friday/Saturday nights they watch a movie together. It's too much IMO. So now that I write it out I feel guilty again and want to cut it back. |

Ages 12 and 8. We do "tech time" meaning they can play on ipad or Nintendo for friday and Saturday for 1 hour. All other days, no games on ipad no nintendo (managed via router and downtime apps).
Tv varies. Usually an hour when we are making dinners |
| We watch a movie on afternoons where we don't have school. Sometimes we'll do game like Mario Kart but almost always it's a movie. Our DD likes having a parent there so one of us is there too. She gets a tablet on long car rides, and can use Word to write when she wants, but nothing else. |
What a shame! They should be spending that early morning time reading |
| Related question, do your lower elementary kids watch video games or go to movie theaters? Mine has only seen movies at home, but I think some friends have Nintendo Switches and I’m sure they have played. |
| Ages 6 and 9. None on weekdays except the older kid has some computer based homework (~30 mins a night). On the weekends, there are limited rules. We prioritize play dates and outings, but they probably get an hour each day between lazy morning shows or nintendo in the afternoons. We are usually up and out of the house by 10, so we just have limited screen time. That said, my youngest would prefer to stay home and play on her ipad for hours. |

9 and 7.5. They can only use screens at the following times::
1. if needed to do a school assignment 2. to facetime with distant relatives 3. when home sick from school 4. on flights longer than 2.5 hours |
What if flight is 2:20 hrs? No soup? |
Mine plays games occasionally but she's not very into it. She likes to see movies in theaters, so we've done that a few times. I usually check when there's a movie she might like in theaters. |
' No soup for you! |

| 7 and 4: About two hours or so on Sundays |
| 7 and 3: 30 min of TV on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. No IPad at home other than FT with relatives which I don’t count |
