Do you think HR can/does look at log in data to their website?

I applied for what looks like my dream job using the online HR system with the company. You are required to submit an application through their online system and to create a profile. When logged in, you can view the status of your application. For instance, if they have reviewed your CV but are no longer interested in you, they supposedly change the status to "reviewed but no longer considering".

I have to stop myself from checking daily or even more frequently (I applied a week ago). Then I had the thought that perhaps HR can or does look to see how many times someone has logged into their account?

I guess it depends on how big the company is, but in my company (8000+) the IT guys who can track website hits are in a different city then our HR department, so I'm thinking that while the HR department could probably ask for that information, they don't usually do that.

Even if they did check, I'd think it would be a good sign of how interested you are in the position.
