Out of curiosity, where do you live?

My DD loves it. It's becoming increasingly popular where we are for girls (FredCo)

It's also a great way for grown men to continue playing the game.

Flagstar Football. They run rec and “travel” leagues all over the dc area.

It’s a great group of organizers and coaches. My kids have sporadically done their activities, including summer camp, and they adore the coaches.

High school flag football started as a result of the very large school district that encompasses Las Vegas NV losing a Title IX lawsuit.

As part of their obligation to create more opportunities for girls to play high school sports the district actually took time to survey students about what new sports they would consider playing. Flag football was high on the list, and inexpensive to start. So, they gave it a try. Now, the school district is like Fairfax size - 21 high schools - so they can play any sport just within the district. They don’t need other districts to join up.

The first year more than 1,000 girls signed up to play. Since then - other States have followed suit as every State has its own Title IX compliance problems. Florida, for example, has more than 9,000 girls at more than 350 schools playing flag football now. Georgia and Nee York also are rapidly getting into high school flag football.

Flag football will becoming bigger over the next decade. NFL pushing with girls to create future fans. That is one of the reasons the pro bowl will be flag football. Also the injuries but they want to tie these two sports together.
