MBSYEP - 14 year olds, where placed?

Anonymous
I would like my 14-year-old to apply for MBSYEP. I'm hoping to hear what types of placements 14 year olds received; he is nervous about what would be expected of him. Are the placements the type where it's like going to school (i.e., college prep either virtually or in person) or were they like more of a job? Would love to hear actual placements from last year for 14-year-olds/rising 9th graders and if they liked it.

Thanks!

You indicate your interests and they try to match you up with jobs that match your interest.

My kid wanted to be a camp counselor and they matched him with a Summer camp. He had customary HS camp counselor responsibilities which mainly involved entertaining 8-10 year olds in a multi-sports camp.

One thing...the MBSYEP has a number of random things you need to do to get fully certified. You fill out the initial application, then they send emails about watching videos on banking and watching a video orientation.

If you miss doing these things, you are just kicked out of the program. No notice, not nothing...you just won't get placed come June.

Make sure your kid is checking emails and checking their portal routinely.
