Progress Check Hon Precal

DS is taking honors precal and teacher just emailed saying there's a progress check whenever we come back after the snow days. The school (wheaton) has just started to "take them very seriously, unlike recent years" so they'll be worth as much as a test grade, but we're unsure of what exactly to expect. Has anyone else's kid experienced this? Any advice on how to approach them?
