When is the CogAT?

I understand that CogAT testing was initially scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving, however the test was delayed by some powers that be - the county? The state? Anyway, has testing been rescheduled and if so, have the dates been announced? We haven’t heard anything from our school.

I would ask you principal. It's only being administered to 2nd grade students.

Testing was delayed because when the school-based test coordinators attended training the platform wasn't even ready to demo for us. They were still trying to figure out how to give teachers access to the site to administer the test. The committee or work group that approves testing windows meets this month to determine a new date. It hasn't been announced yet. Given the cluster that was the training, I'm willing to bet that they postpone giving it this year.
At the school level we are already treading water trying to finish required MAP testing, DIBELS, Benchmark Interim and Eureka end of module assessments. Oh, and there's also ACCESS testing that takes about a month for our EML students. It doesn't seem like a lot looking at a calendar but when you factor in absences due to illness it is a never ending process of make up tests.

I’ve been wondering about this. Glad to know it was not just our school. It’s so weird that they sent a very official letter about it and how to opt out, and then just never gave the test but didn’t say anything about it.

OP here, thank you for this info. Will schools use other data/testing to determine eligibility for CES and 2E programs, or will this year’s second graders not be eligible for these programs next year?

Delayed by a scandal. MCPS had too much going on to focus on the things that they are here for - the students.
