| Long-standing appointment for outpatient surgery downtown tomorrow and have to be there at 6am! Was originally planning to take Uber and partner would pick me up later. Now I am doubting I will be able to get an Uber. Will metro still be running you think? Medical office says everything is a go since the forecast isn’t *that* bad. |
| Maybe get a hotel room close to the medical center. |
|
You drive, allowing yourself a lot of time to do so. Maybe book a spot with Spothero. Partner ubers or Metros later and picks you up with the car.
If roads are impassable then you call and cancel. |
|
Metro will be open, it's underground.
Can your partner drive you in? |
|
It really is fine. Metro will be open. They open
at 5am. If you are super anxious the hotel idea is not a bad one. I think Uber will be fine too tbh but plan for extra time and possibly higher fees. |
This. |
| Your surgeon may not be there! |
I think metro is shutting down tomorrow |
| Honestly it’s bad out there and it’s not going to get any better overnight. I would cancel. |
I don’t know if they will shut down completely but very likely they’ll shift to a reduced emergency schedule, especially if OPM call it. |
This, if you can afford it. Good luck, OP! |
Ha ha - obviously a DC area newbie... |
Too late to give 24 hours notice. |
| Bean counter will tell staff to show up. Staff might refuse. |

Don't kill yourself trying to arrive at 6 on the dot, OP. If you're late, you're late. My daughter has had numerous interventions, and they always schedule for an unbearable time in the morning - I remember we had to wake up at 4:30am for a biopsy scheduled at 7am because they wanted us to arrive by 5am. But we always end up waiting for an hour in the waiting room anyway! It's disrespectful. |
