Best brand of bland vegetable/ canola oil for baking

Anonymous
The last generic brand of canola oil I got for baking has a bad distinct taste and I ended up throwing the cake I baked it in.

Any recommendations for bland canola / vegetable oil for baking ?
TIA

Use a different oil. I bake with peanut oil. None of us are allergic.

I have found the brand doesn't matter, but how old it is does. So I try to buy smaller amounts, check the sell by date (a year out at least at purchase), and keep it stored somewhere cool and dark.

Peanut oil when it gets old is really strong. So it depends how fast you use it.

I use grape seed oil or avocado oil. No smell.

Use avocado oil instead. Much better for you

Canola oil can have a fishy taste even when heated below the smoke point. Go for avocado or grape seed oil. Or corn oil if concerned about price point.

I use non extra virgin olive oil (or light) from costco. For all the baking. No taste.

I use costco canola oil. Great for deep frying too. I wouldn't use flavored oils for baking.

Same -- extra light olive oil. Make sure ingredients are all olive oil

This is my experience as well.
