Practice this coming week

I’m curious how clubs will be handling the upcoming freezing temps. DS has been playing soccer for many years and his teams have played and practiced in all kinds of crummy weather but I never remember temps as cold as predicted in the evenings for weeks straight. Do you think your club will be canceling or moving indoors?

Temps under 30 or cold temps with rain -activities are cancelled. No indoor option for many clubs.

Our club has not cancelled practices over this weekend. Just dress warmly. I run in freezing temperatures and freezing temperatures are manageable. So long as there is very little down time in practice and kids are constantly moving.

My son is a GK so it’s a little trickier. He doesn’t get as much movement. It will be a windchill around 10 degrees at practice (8-9:30). I think I better upgrade his coldgear.

Cancelled if wind chill below 20.

Crossing my fingers the club will follow this policy.

We're talking about youth and liable businesses, not you.

My kids have run with me in freezing temperatures and they were out today in our backyard playing soccer in windy freezing temperatures. Again, just have the proper clothes.

But parents know their kids best, regardless of whether clubs cancel or not, it’s up to them to decide whether their kid can handle the cold or not.

For sure, it’ll be rough on the youngest kids or at clubs where practices are not very intense. It’s not going to be one size fits all and it’s the parents call, not the clubs. They can help facilitate the decision by canceling I suppose but again, parents call.

Today wasn’t nearly as cold as it will feel during late evening practices.

We have an upcoming tournament in our south of DC area and I checked the expected 9am temp, 22 degrees! That's a new low for us for a game and I can't imagine they'll play if its that cold.

I was complaining about 36 on Saturday!

Get over it snowflake, all those kids living in New Jersey Baltimore Philadelphia New York and Boston are practicing.

If kids who train consistently miss a week of practice, it's a none issue.

Any practice starting when it would be below 32, were canceled. Sucks because the games this weekend will be in the 20's.

With possible 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow, what are the odds the tournament/game going to be cancelled?
