| Any reviews? Thanks! |
| DD did this camp for years. She really loved it. |
| My DD did it twice and really liked it. Now she’s in the age range the sessions are 2 weeks and it’s pricy so we’re not doing it anymore. If it was still one week session she would do a week. |
| My DD did this camp when she was younger and loved it. Very well organized and well-run, and counselors were great. |
Agreed!!! We've been going there for years! We just love them! |
| Do you recommend this camp for kids who are enjoy art but are super passionate about it? I would love to send both my kids because it’s convenient and sounds well run but only one *loves* art. The other likes art at school fine but doesn’t necessarily sit and draw on their own etc. |
Totally!!!!!!!!!!!! It's as laidback or as intense as you want it to be. I would say it's more tho on the laidback side. But they really do a lot of creative projects. |
| IT's totally sold out for age 5-6 right? ugh! |
| Reviving this...does anyone know if the summer camp is mostly girls? (asking as the parent of a boy who likes to draw) |
| 3rd grade DS went for 2 weeks last year and is already signed up for 2 weeks this year. I know other families with boys who attend. Definitely not all girls. |
| High recommend. Kim Swanner is great, experienced, talented and connects well with kids! |
| This is an old thread, but I would like to hear feedback from parents who sent their kids to the Visarts camp in the past. Is it worth the hefty cost? Would it be suitable for a 10 year-old? |
I have a 10 year old who will be there for 2 weeks this summer and has been for the last 2 or 3 summers. They divide the 7-12 year olds by age, so I expect my 10 year old will probably be in the 2nd oldest age group. The could be with older kids or younger, but I don’t expect them to be with 7/8 year olds. I’ve posted in other threads about VisArts before. The camp is very well organized and it’s the one camp my kid always wants to go back to. A previous poster asked about sending boys. There are more girls, but my kid has consistently had about 25%-40% boys in his group. |
