I am looking for a company/person to help me with our Master Bedroom closet. We had some shelving from Container Store in there, and it is not doing the trick anymore. Decided it might be worth exploring other options, as it's a large but strange space and could use some advice. I've heard of California closets, but also heard they're pretty pricey. Any suggestions for local businesses that won't break the bank?
Thanks! |
| We used EasyClosets for our house, and it worked well. The drawbacks are that it's all particle board and the mounts are designed for drywall. If you have plaster walls, you need to tell them and they'll swap out tall pieces that touch the floor rather than hang from the walls. |

I haven't done this myself, but try ClosetMaid. http://www.closetmaid.com/Custom_Closet_Installation/index.cfm
Their stuff is very high quality. |
| I don't know if they have designers there to help you (I think they do with kitchens, so maybe they do with closets) but I got my closet system from Ikea and love it. It's very sturdy, wasn't super expensive, and there are tons of configurations. I originally had it in a condo and when we bought our home, I knew that's what I wanted. If you're looking for something really high-end looking (like the dark wood that gives it more of a "dressing room" look) it won't work, but otherwise, it's great. |
| I recommend getting 2 -3 quotes. The prices can vary, and you can also play hardball and tell them you got a lower quote from another company and they will try to beat it or match it. California Closets is the best and most reputable. Get a quote from them last and then tell them about your other quotes. They will come down. I wish I had gone with them when I did my closet because the cheaper company I went with is now out of business and I need some repairs. |

| OP here - thanks for all the feedback and suggestions, I've checked these out and they look really great! |
