Quit drinking 6 weeks ago….

And have gained a few pounds. I’m exercising more and eating better than when I was drinking. Ugh, going to see an internist in a few weeks but man am I frustrated. I quit drinking to be healthier and assumed doing so would make it easier to loose 5 or 10 pounds but it almost seems like it was easier to loose weight while drinking my few glasses of wine a day. Going to keep dry for a few more months because I’ve enjoyed how it makes me feel but really wish the ounces would come off. Anyone else have a similar experience? Why is it harder to loose weight?

Congrats on 6 weeks!

Hopefully your body is just adjusting.

How do your clothes fit? How are you sleeping? How does your skin look?

There are many benefits of health/fitness that arent just #s on a scale. Dont forget muscle weighs more than fat, but is much denser.

Sometimes people replace the sugar they were getting from alcohol with food or refined sugar products. Maybe consider the volume of your eating. It’s very unlikely you are exercising with enough intensity to need to “eat anything back.”
