Trying to balance wanting DC to take a rigorous course load with micromanaging this process.
Do you care if your kids take productive electives and/or if they are classes that give an honors/AP bump for GPA? He is not overworked, so this isn’t really a question of pushing him too hard. |
| A lot. In our case, I try to pull her back. DD is very ambitious in her course choices, and while she will do well in her classes, she also stresses out a lot about it. So my job is to help her find balance. |
| I give a lot of advice that they don’t always listen to. I think electives should be about trying new things and taking classes they enjoy. I don’t care about rigor and a GPA grade bump for these. |
| Try new things and don’t let your kid burn out. Despite how easy it may look to you for the kid, they can benefit from something that is just fun and allows them to socialize while learning. |
