Impromptu Sleepovers

How often do you allow impromptu sleepovers? By that I mean doing an sleepover without prior plans to have one. Anything other than maybe a toothbrush that kid really needs?

I would anytime we didn’t have plans. Why not?

i think the vast majority of our sleepovers are impromptu lol. I do always keep toothbrushes around but generally the parents just drop off stuff or the kids run home quickly to get their stuff.

Toothbrush and switch in our house.

Same. And we are/were frequent hosts. I used to buy toothbrushes for $1 each on Amazon and keep a box in my bathroom closet.

Unless the kid needs special nighttime underwear or something like that.

My son has impromptu sleepovers with his BFF quite regularly. She's our neighbor so she usually just has to run home to get her stuff.

Rarely. I hate sleepovers. I want to be a cool mom and like them, but my ADHD poor sleeper child has ADHD poor sleeper friends who distract each other and try to stay up all night and then I don't sleep and then I get mad and no.

I'm trying to teach her that if there's actually sleep involved I wouldn't mind very much.

All the time. They are usually the only kind we do

What kinds of things do kids actually do at sleepovers now besides go to sleep?

We never ever allow any sleepovers. Impossible to guarantee safety. YMMV.

Usually when the parents are to drunk to drive

If a kid needs special nighttime underwear then they aren’t ready for a sleepover in our house. I am not dealing with that.
