Admits based on donations

can anyone attest to how many students from their kids school were admitted to colleges based on large donations? I have a child at McLean and know of one student who was accepted to t25 based on $$$.

Sometimes a family foundation's public 990. Or there's are small press release for endowed giving that's searchable (this rarely gives actual amount). Parents are alums plus $$$ donors, kids get in.

This is totally normal. 70% of the kids in ivies fall into this category. If you think they have the grades, it’s called “purchasing power”.

Haha thought the same thing. I would think it would take more money that—a one time donation of what they get in tuition.
