Did anyone become a first time homeowner over 40?

First time getting a real house! Previously DH and i owned a yurt and a boat house respectively. Feels funny to be domesticated hahaha

Yes. We delayed a bit to be honest but ended up buying at 1m at 40 and 45.

I have a fb board friend who has a child in college, one in a parochial HS and just bought a house this year

I was 39 when we bought our current house (although it was my third, though it had been almost 10 years since my last time owning) and my partner was 47 and he was a first time homeowner.

I will never be able to afford to retire or buy a home.

ILs bought in their 40's as DH was finishing HS. They were working on advanced degrees and raised DH in university housing.
