Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I'm about to start my second fresh IVF cycle. My first fresh cycle was a long lupron protocol and although I did produce 12 eggs, my RE said I was a bit oversuppressed from the Lupron, which resulted in me being on stims for 12 days. (He even had to increase my Gonal F halfway through my cycle to play catch up)
For those IVF patients who had a successful cycle, how many days were you on stims? |
| 8 days |
| 8 days as well |

10 days...but I had a 'different' issue.
I was days away from turning 42...and I actually was on stims for a few days longer than the docs would probably have kept me on them...because we wanted to push the eggs a little further. I paid for it, though...E2 levels really high and a nasty case of OHSS that led to the fresh transfer being canceled and a FET (frozen embryo transfer) a few months later. But it was well worth it, because we got twins out of it. |
| The first time I stimmed for 10 days and the second time for 11 days. I have done four stimulated cycles total (one was converted to an IUI) and have stimmed for 9, 10, 11, and 11 days. |
| OP here...wow...thanks so much for your answers. Really confirms my theory that my BFN cycle could have been caused by being on the drugs for so long. Can the stims actually harm your eggs? (e.g., "fry" them?) |

| 12 days for both of my IVF cycles (one unsuccessful, one successful). I got a little over-suppressed but ended up with lots of eggs (18 the first time and about 28 the second time). Best of luck! |

If your follicles get too big, that can harm egg quality. I don't think the number of days on stims is as important as keeping them from getting to big.
good luck!!! |
