sleepaway basektball camp

When I was growing up outside Chicago, I went to a 5-day basketball camp at a nearby college campus. We slept in dorms and played basketball during the day. Does anybody know of nearby colleges that offer this type of camp for middle or high school sports?

The Naval Academy offers several overnight sports camps in the summer. My DS did a lacrosse camp when he was in 7th grade. He had a blast. I have friends who sent their kids to camps for Volleyball, Waterpolo and Swimming. They all raved about how well run the camps were and how much fun their kids had. You do not have to have any interest in attending the Academy to attend. They stay in the dorms and eat in the dining hall.

Wooten up at Frostburg State. As a bonus, their dining hall is nut-free for the camp duration with the exception of Chik Fil A.

Thanks for the recommendations. Do the kids at these camps come from all over, or is it a concentration of a few specific schools/areas that send their players there? Ideally the former, I think it would be a good experience to play with kids from all over.

Wootten. Many kids from DMV, but the kids come from elsewhere nearby as well, like Pennsylvania. Not from too far away. It is very well run.
In addition to requesting a roommate, you can request to be on a hallway with friends. This sometimes can get messy.

Why is that a bonus

Thanks for this - I was asking b/c I don't think my son would know anybody there, so we would not be requesting a roommate etc. I was thinking about the opposite issue - do groups of kids from teams all go together, and would he be the odd one out?

Because my child has nut allergies. YMMV whether you think that’s a bonus or not if your kid doesn’t have nut allergies.

Wooten has many players that come without friends. Not an issue.

Has anybody heard anything about PGC Basketball camps https://pgcbasketball.com/ or https://www.ussportscamps.com/ or Jr 76rs camps https://www.jr76erscamps.com/jr-76ers-basketball-camps/jr-76ers-academy-overnight-camp-experience/? Just trying to compare options. The prices vary quite a bit.

Strange - my posts keep getting folded into earlier replies. Will try again:

Not exactly what you're looking for but another option, though it's team based, is Paul Webb http://www.webbcamp.com/
