| I had DD and DS a part of BANV. This is not a bash on others, who are fine. After BANV was no more when VRSC bought the complex I had my kids go elsewhere. I truly think BANV was one of best and would have continued being one of the best in the area. We didn't care that BANV wasn't in ECNL or MLS next, we knew the training and opportunities they provided were better than what most provide. For me, that says a lot considering DD moved onto ECNL and DS moved onto MLS next after BANV was no more. Do you agree? If no, why? If you were there, did you have similar feeling? |
| The beginning of the power move from VRSC to squeeze out clubs and buy their way into youth soccer in the area. First BANV, followed by FCV. |
They don't have the resources to squeeze out FCV. St. James is not going to give up on soccer |
| Great training, we spent a year with club but that model didn't work in the US. Kids that wanted to perform at the highest level in this area went to a club that was part of a national platform. |
| So they didn't play other teams in a league? |
They did. |
We lost to a few of their teams in leagues and scrimmages. I would have had my kids join there if they weren't in their final year of playing. |
| I heard that Barca struggled to pay for using fields. Do you think VRSC was going to let them stay for free? VRSC keeps growing in size so why would they want to keep other clubs at their facility? |
| Did any of the BANV players join VRSC? |
Barca only had the Virginia Revolution sportsplex for fields. They had no other fields. It's where they've always been since their arrival. They didn't struggle to pay for using fields. We did not expect VRSC to have us use the fields for free. |
Can't say for sure, but we can assume a couple or a few did. |
| Remember the subject is BANV, keep other clubs out of this conversation. Thank you Barca for some of the best years of my son's life. |
They merged with FCV. A friend's son's entire BANV team went to FCV. Not sure the future of the boys side at FCV so they might move over to VRSC. |

OMG. US too!!! I loved it there. My kids got in at the ground level in 2016.
The first 3 years were the absolute best--coaches and TDs, etc. I would have kept my kids there all the way through--even with the drive. |
My kids played first division of EDP. They also had an internal league that was going when Club was off-season so that kids were playing games all year-round. They were great about mixing ages and genders based on ability. They also kept very detailed notes on every player and their progression and would have coaches rotating practices--taking notes. |
