Fairfax radiology booked up till mid-February?

Anonymous
My doctors prescribed a diagnostic mammogram but I found all Fairfax radiology centers are booked up till mid February. What can I do? Thanks for any help.

I've always gone to Virginia Hospital Center... very good experience and I can schedule on weekends too.

Beware that Virginia Hospital Center charges a separate facility fee for mammograms that is not generally covered by insurance. I got hit with a $500 fee for my “free” yearly mammogram. I ended up fighting it with my insurance but it was a pain.

I would try calling Inova.

Ask to be put on the waitlist while you look for other options. I was able to get an appt within a day when the same thing happened to me.

I think it's probably user error - try calling and see if they can help? They've always been helpful to me.

I just had one last week and it was totally empty. Two people at the front desk and I was the only patient in the waiting room.

I was able to get one scheduled within a week’s time. I would try calling and if your preferred location is booked ask about one of the other locations.

Did you call or just use the website? They’ve always gotten me in much faster than that.

Yes, call them. And if they’re really booked, go to Washington radiology.

Inova fit me in quickly

I just booked with Washington Radiology in Fairfax and they had January appts online.

Bay Radiology in Annapolis. Diagnostic and all needed follow-up same-day on-site. I will literally never have a mammogram in a place that doesn’t do this.
